Spokane Police say an armed robbery at the Zip Trip on Nine Mile Road was a set up by the suspect and the clerk. A 13-year-old suspect and the clerk, Robert Swan, worked together to set up what appeared to be a robbery. Evidence shows the suspect entered the store, demanded money and fled on foot with an unknown amount of cash. The 13-year-old was booked into Juvenile Detention for 1st degree burglary. Swan was booked into Spokane County Jail for 1st degree burglary, criminal conspiracy and making a false report.
....what this news story does not say is that the 13 year old was dressed in a leopard print top, white slacks and a frilly hat.....got the visual? Who selected this outfit we ask ya? Everyone knows you don't wear white after Labor Day!!!!!
Here's our thought....the store clerk is an idiot in several ways number one: Out drinking with a 13 years old....then making a career move that will land him in jail with a 13 year old wearing a leopard skin top. Finally, where were the parents of the 13 year old that he could get out of the house dressed in drag to commit a robbery at 2 a.m.???? Hummmm
Voters in Tuesday's Florida Republican primary chose Mitt Romney as the candidate to defeat President Barack Obama in the fall. Romney carried a little less than half the vote but Gingrich had a strong showing among those seeking a true conservative. At the end of the day, electability may be the issue for most Republican voters....who is best able to defeat Obama in November....that is the question. Romney won by a wide margin among women after a deeply negative campaign in Florida raising questions about Gingrch's character. A majority of Hispanics backed Romney. And the last FUN fact folks....6 out of 10 people surveyed said the economy was the issue they were MOST concerned about. Now.....on to Nevada!
Dean and Angela....Out!
Congrats!
Central Valley High School’s Sydnee Scofield was crowned 2012 Lilac Queen during a ceremony Sunday at the Spokane Masonic Center.
Scofield was selected from a group of 14 high school seniors who competed for the crown. Each gave a speech based on a quote assigned by Spokane Lilac Festival officials.
Scofield’s speech was based on a quote by Orison Swett Marden: “All men who have achieved great things have been great dreamers.”
Her win Sunday brings a $1,500 scholarship for making it to the Royal Court, plus $1,500 for being selected queen. That’s in addition to representing the Lilac Festival for the year and making appearances throughout the Northwest.
Scofield has a court of six princesses: Hannah Allen, of University High School; Katie Sweeney, Mead; Jasmin Hallam, Rogers; Alexis Schwartz, Ferris; Linnea Kessler, Cheney; and Hailey Murray, West Valley.
