SPOKANE, Wash. -A candlelight vigil was held at Freeman High School on Thursday night.

Hundreds gathered on the school's football field, a year after a shooting on campus left one student, Sam Strahan, dead and three others injured.

"I miss him. We miss him, obviously. That's your first thought of the day," Randy Russell, the superintendent of Freeman School District, said.

"But then I think about how our students and staff came together that day, how our parents supported us, and the amount of support we got. Not just that day, but the next day, the next week, the next month," Russell said.
